THE LONE STAR BATTLESHIP
U.S.S. TEXAS
BB-35
Scale Models
This is a collection of known scale models of the Texas which were produced
in quantities. Some are toys, some are game pieces, some are collectors items, and some were
used in wartime for recognition training. Several served more than one role. Some are wood,
some plastic, some are metal, and one is paper.
This list does not include single article models constructed by individuals for display or RC
purposes, though there have certainly been many of those and they reflect a high degree of
effort and skill.

Popular Science magazine ran a series of articles from November 1932 through March 1933
detailing the construction of a model of the Texas. And, starting in the November issue,
they also began offering for sale a set of plans or a kit with those plans to allow readers
to duplicate the depicted build. The kit / plans continued to be offered at least through
the end of 1941, and likely further.
